Since 2005, I have been able to manage the traditional boutique hotel Amalienhof as managing director without suffering. At my side: a highly motivated and great host team. Together we give our guests a home during their travels and organize an eventful but also relaxing stay in Weimar for them. Hotelier is and remains my dream job. As managing director, I above all have the opportunity to find creative and innovative solutions in every area in order to constantly move the hotel forward. I would be happy to take overall responsibility for the hotel operations. I can implement my visions and strategies to make the company a successful and profitable company. Under the motto: Flexibility is our new endurance sport. Since 2018 I have also taken over the Hotel Carolinenhof in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. www.carolinenhof-berlin.de I feel balance and gratitude in my volunteer work. For me, this work means taking responsibility and acting actively instead of passively watching. I work actively on the boards of the “Freundeskreis Deutsches Nationaltheater & Staatskapelle Weimar” and Weimar City Center Association. These networks can be beneficial for the hotel and offer new opportunities for collaborations and partnerships.
Assistant to the Management
I have been part of the Amalienhof team since February 2009, starting as a receptionist. I have always been very fond of organizing the smooth running of everyday hotel life. As an assistant to the management, I was then allowed to take on additional administrative tasks. Since January 2014, I have been present as the “day-to-day boss”, with a short break for parental leave. Working with a great team makes it possible to create a place of well-being for our guests.
With 29 years of professional experience (training occupation: hotel manager and further qualification as a state-certified business economist in the hotel and restaurant industry), I have been working since April 1, 2012 as hostess at the boutique hotel Amalienhof Weimar. As a cultural ambassador, I present my hometown of Weimar and am happy to pass on my insider tips to our Amalienhof guests. I regularly visit current exhibitions, museums and theater performances in Weimar and the surrounding area and sometimes travel to Dessau to see the “Bauhaus”. I am particularly proud of our “Hotel Good Night Booklet” in collaboration with our chief host Ms. Claudia Wießner and Nachtuhu Stefan Schmidt. The diverse range of tasks and a great team confirm to me every day that I have chosen the right career.
I have known our hotel since her first hour of work. I started as a trainee in August 1991, which I successfully completed at Amalienhof. Since then, I have remained loyal to our company and now actively support our team as our longest-serving employee. In addition to working at the reception, I see particular responsibility in the tasks: debtor management, keeping statistics and ordering materials for the floor and reception area.
Starting work at the end of January 2023, I am very “young” in the team Hotels. As a career changer, I had to learn a lot of new things. This concerned the program specifically tailored to hotel operations The reception is being worked on, but also insights into everyone else Work areas such as management, service and housekeeping. Included Everyone supported me - a great team! Working at reception means having direct contact with hotel guests have. I find it interesting, very different people to get to know each other, to be able to answer questions or provide information Organize events and exhibitions.
I've had one night after night since 2008 keeping an eye and ear on the restful sleep of our guests, fulfill their wishes for a second pillow or one Sleeping potion. With my tips for a theater or I'm also happy to help you visit the museum during the day and evening to create a beautiful city. Put on preparing breakfast I special value and with different spreads, also for our vegan living guests, I enrich our offer for one great start to the day. I also ensure order and cleanliness in the area Lobby. The collaboration with the great team at Amalienhof makes I have a lot of joy
Since May 2021, I have been responsible for breakfast at the boutique Hotel Amalienhof. Every morning I present our special breakfast buffet and, very importantly, the guests get their coffee from me. I am also responsible for the entire purchasing management so that the breakfast buffet never remains empty. As a trained restaurant specialist, I have been working in the catering industry since 2011 and have probably served one or two guests in a Weimar café. I simply want to inspire you with this experience and passion.
Head of Housekeeping/Service
I have been an integral part of our team since 2014. As a trained specialist in the hotel industry, I am involved in every area. This includes kitchen, breakfast service, housekeeping and sometimes reception. I have been leading the housekeeping team since May 2023. My tasks include, for example, roster design, Room check, purchasing and the motivation of the team. I am convinced that the cleanliness of the hotel rooms is the hallmark of our hotel. Satisfied guests are proof of our careful work.
In August 2015 I started an internship for career orientation “job-related language training” at Amalienhof. I feel very comfortable right from the start. Since then I have been working in the areas of breakfast service and housekeeping. I really enjoy working in the team and with the guests. My colleagues are always happy about the cheerfulness that I bring into everyday work from my home country of Tonga.
I have been part of the team at the Boutique Hotel Amalienhof since May 2022 and perfectly complement my work in housekeeping. I enjoy keeping our hotel clean to create a beautiful “home away from home”. Our traditional hotel with its valuable furnishings requires very special care. I would be very happy to take this on.
Since February 2023 I have been working at the boutique Hotel Amalienhof in the areas of housekeeping and breakfast service. I particularly enjoy working in the hotel industry; I have gained experience in various hotels and countries. I enjoy working in housekeeping because I can make a decisive contribution to ensuring that guests feel completely comfortable in our hotel. I often start my working day in the breakfast restaurant. I really appreciate the variety between service and housekeeping, as no two days are the same and it gives me the opportunity to improve my German skills.
