Manager
Claudia Wießner

Since 2005, I have been able to manage the traditional boutique hotel Amalienhof as managing director without suffering. At my side: a highly motivated and great host team. Together we give our guests a home during their travels and organize an eventful but also relaxing stay in Weimar for them. Hotelier is and remains my dream job. As managing director, I above all have the opportunity to find creative and innovative solutions in every area in order to constantly move the hotel forward. I would be happy to take overall responsibility for the hotel operations. I can implement my visions and strategies to make the company a successful and profitable company. Under the motto: Flexibility is our new endurance sport. Since 2018 I have also taken over the Hotel Carolinenhof in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. www.carolinenhof-berlin.de I feel balance and gratitude in my volunteer work. For me, this work means taking responsibility and acting actively instead of passively watching. I work actively on the boards of the “Freundeskreis Deutsches Nationaltheater & Staatskapelle Weimar” and Weimar City Center Association. These networks can be beneficial for the hotel and offer new opportunities for collaborations and partnerships.

I have been part of the Amalienhof team since February 2009, starting as a receptionist. I have always been very fond of organizing the smooth running of everyday hotel life. As an assistant to the management, I was then allowed to take on additional administrative tasks. Since January 2014, I have been present as the “day-to-day boss”, with a short break for parental leave. Working with a great team makes it possible to create a place of well-being for our guests.

With 29 years of professional experience (training occupation: hotel manager and further qualification as a state-certified business economist in the hotel and restaurant industry), I have been working since April 1, 2012 as hostess at the boutique hotel Amalienhof Weimar. As a cultural ambassador, I present my hometown of Weimar and am happy to pass on my insider tips to our Amalienhof guests. I regularly visit current exhibitions, museums and theater performances in Weimar and the surrounding area and sometimes travel to Dessau to see the “Bauhaus”. I am particularly proud of our “Hotel Good Night Booklet” in collaboration with our chief host Ms. Claudia Wießner and Nachtuhu Stefan Schmidt. The diverse range of tasks and a great team confirm to me every day that I have chosen the right career.

Since then, I have remained loyal to our company and now actively support our team as our longest-serving employee. In addition to working at the reception, I see particular responsibility in the tasks: debtor management, keeping statistics and ordering materials for the floor and reception area.

Since February 2023 I have been working at the boutique Hotel Amalienhof in the areas of housekeeping and breakfast service. I particularly enjoy working in the hotel industry; I have gained experience in various hotels and countries. I enjoy working in housekeeping because I can make a decisive contribution to ensuring that guests feel completely comfortable in our hotel. I often start my working day in the breakfast restaurant. I really appreciate the variety between service and housekeeping, as no two days are the same and it gives me the opportunity to improve my German skills.
