For the third time in a row, the DNT 2023 summer theater is offering an open-air performance in Weimar.

Read why the summer theater is already considered legendary:

Summer 2022 Schiller’s “Robbers” in Weimar – a great moment in the art of acting

by Stefan Petraschewsky, MDR KULTUR theater editor

“The German National Theater Weimar is showing “The Robbers” based on Friedrich
Schiller on the summer open-air stage at the E-Werk. It rarely happens that
at the end an audience thanked them with a standing ovation, directed by
Jan Neumann was like that. And it’s also a big theatrical event: so much
Game; so much physicality; the actors are always so in every second
their role, that the Schiller texts can shine in a way that I rarely do
have experienced.”

The chief dramaturge Beate Seidel personally welcomed our guests in front of the
Stage with an introduction, summer 2022

We are always happy to organize this special experience for our guests – please talk to us about it.

Our hosts, here Ms. Sädler and Ms. Teubert (from right to left) –
strong, lbare always with the first audience and attend the
dress rehearsals.

Our host team is invited to every dress rehearsal. It is always surprising for our guests when our employees can already report in detail about the plays.

Review Süddeutsche Zeitung, June 2022, performance “As you like it”

“It all runs almost too smoothly, as part of a well-oiled comedy machine,
the Christian way knows how to use it brilliantly,” writes Michael Helbing in
the Thuringian state newspaper (June 21, 2021). “Every note is right, everyone
Rhythm – so much so that you wish the machine would get into trouble
Stuttering.” An irritating moment is missing. “Because it’s so natural
is of course nothing when looking for and finding love like your own
Identity. They must have noticed that at some point, which is why Thomas
Kramer makes a strong appearance as Orlando’s sister Olivia
all the covers fall and someone suddenly falls between chairs (and
genders): ‘someone in between’, as Boris Izvarin sang.”
Otherwise, the game with inside and outside triumphs over the game with
Interiors and exteriors, according to the critic, this summer game
finally hailed as a brilliant return of the National Theater: “a
big pleasure game in which pleasure itself is only a side topic
Supporting role, the players’ desire for each other and for an audience
but explodes”.
